According to a recent update, the Nigerian military has repelled the Boko Haram attack on Gombe, Gombe state.
The news broke yesterday, February 14, that gunfire and explosions were heard in the state’s capital as the insurgents invaded the town. The soldiers were engaged in a heavy battle with the militants.
The troops finally managed to drive the terrorists away, as officially confirmed by the Defence Headquarters.
The attack comes two weeks after an explosive was detonated outside the Gombe stadium where a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential rally was held.
