Students arrested in Ibadan for unlawful possession of arms, cultism



TWO young men who claimed to be HND 2 students of Mechanical Engineering at The Polytechnic, Ibadan, have been arrested for unlawful possession of arms and suspected cultism by the Oyo State Police Command.

Crime Reports learnt that the suspects, identified as Oyedeji Paul and Olaniyi Olufemi, were intercepted on January 20, 2015 at about 12.45a.m. when a patrol team, led by one Inspector Waheed Oyetola, attached to Sango Division, was on night patrol along First Bank/Poly Road axis.

The suspects were reported to have been found with a brown bag containing one locally-made pistol with 10 rounds of live cartridges, two identity cards, one wrist watch, three handsets and N550.

When the young men were interrogated on the reason for moving about at such an ungodly hour, they were unable to give a satisfactory explanation, it was learnt. On the gun and other items found with them, oneā€¦
